- Research-only: evaluated from current primary documentation and other cited evidence; not physically tested by us.
- Hands-on: used directly for a stated task under described conditions.
- Long-term use: used repeatedly over a stated period and workflow.
Workload before product
For comparisons, we define the workload before selecting products. Criteria may include compatibility, input and output requirements, power draw, mass, ports, security model, recovery path, recurring cost, regional restrictions, warranty and support, and the quality of the fallback.
Verification and disclosure
We verify specifications on the publication or review date and disclose material gaps. Rankings are not purchased.
Because networks, batteries, software, and travel rules vary, our instructions are planning guidance rather than a guarantee. Readers should confirm employer policies, device specifications, carrier terms, airline rules, and local law for their own situation.
